*slump*

it appears that moving out has been postponed for the time being. but rest assured, it will happen, just not right away as i had hoped.

12.16.2006

goals for the winter...

since yesterday was my first official day of winter break, i decided to come up with some goals for this break, though i've just decided to write them out today...

goal the first: help mom advertise her new store mommy an' me and help her get the business going

goal the second: move out (this one requires adam to get a good paying job...)

goal the third: finish going from a to z on that horribly addicting game on gamershood.com...

thus ends my list of goals. tiny? yes. but i like to think of them as realistically challenging....

i've decided...

that the chp office in jamestown sucks. they were asses to a person that didn't deserve it, and were rude in a manner that was most uncalled for. now, because of a receptionist, my friend can't get his car back, and now can't get a job or finish his testing. his entire future is now screwed up because of a bitch. thank you.

december 7th, 1945...

how sad is it when i learned more from the animaniacs about ww2 and pearl harbor than i did my own history classes?

11.22.2006

two things...

first of all, this new blogger that came out says i need to sign in with my google id, but i don't have one....

second, i seem to have caught adam's "allergies" that make my nose run, my throat hurt, my tummy feel like poo and my engery level to be as high as a comoatose patient's. long story short, i am dreading the ride to reno and back. Perhaps i'll drug up before we take off....

11.21.2006

i've just now decided

that i'm going to submit some of my photos to jones soda in hopes that maybe, just maybe one of them will get picked....

..

don't you hate it when you miss a person by a few minutes?

it sucks...

11.16.2006

it's been a while...

since i haven't had homework to take up my every moment during what's supposed to be my weekend.

even when i try to relax, i'm thinking about mercury and its AMAZING surface tension, or i think about the paraffin rocket being built by NASA and how that will help reduce harmful environmental effects.

But this weekend is different, on friday (my self appointed only day off..) i actually won' t have anything to do, besides take photos, which i love doing anyways. then i have a test on monday, but i'm sure it will only take up an hour of my time, before i can go back to reading a book that's not a required text book. maybe i can actually hang out with my friends this weekend and maybe crash at their house and rape their fridge.

and on an update about my photos in the art show, no one has bought them yet though that doesn't surprise me. they aren't framed, and even if they were, how many people would have a transvestite sitting above their mantel.

but, people have recognized my name and do acknowledge my work with compliments. perhaps i can print enough photos tonight to enter into the next photo show, and maybe show a different side of my art.

i've decided that columbia college sucks for lying to me and not having international relations available next semester. this was the last class i needed to get my transfer degree. now i have to just get an associate of science, but i will graduate and i will be leaving after next semester. let's just all pray that i get into berkeley..

i'm liking the fact that joey thinks adam is cute. just because my taste in guys has at time been rather....questionable. i tried to explain to adam that in tuolumne county, one has to have two sets of standards.

one for guys born in this county that's pretty much the basics. are they related to me in any way? how many teeth do they have? do they bathe? are they sexually clean? and are they part of the idiot hicks that hate everything non-hick?

but for guys that come from out of the county, one can set much, much higher standards. while the basic questions as in the tuolumne county standards apply, there are more. such as looks (they matter a touch, don't pretend that they don't....), personality quality, political knowledge, and were they've traveled to because if they've traveled, they're more adventurous and just more fun in general.

but this has gotten entirely too long, i only wanted to be happy about having an entire weekend free....

11.07.2006

i MUST go

After discovering the best sushi i've had on this side of the pacific, i've decided that i must get into ucb. not only was my trip to berkeley loads of fun, but i've renewed my determination to get into this university. my only concern is that i won't make it, which will crush me completely... but i have faith, i'm working on my personal statements and plan to enlist the help of a few friends (if they're willing) to smooth it out.

enough is enough

i'm tired of parents calling into the FCC bitching about tv is full of cuss words. What gets me is that these are the parents that basically let the tv babysit the kids. they're too busy to sit their kids down and tell them that certain words aren't good for them to say.

so when little johnny comes home from school and says bitch, his parents instantly assume that it's the television that's corrupted the mind of their precious child. not once do they take into consideration that maybe johnny picked it up from his best friend that they know nothing about. parents aren't involved in teaching their children things like "don't call her a whore", instead, they get their panties in a wad. this leads to calling the FCC to complain about nicole richie dropping the f-bomb, worrying that their kids might start using it.

then i read another article saying that r-rated tv makes kids smoke and drink.

no kids smoke and drink because they think they'll be cool. show your kids pictures of a cancerous lung, or a person with half a jaw eaten away by cancer because they used chew, and smoking won't be as cool. she your kid pictures of the liver when it's been killed from booze, and the effects of that on your skin. explain that the yellow color is the nasty stuff that never got filtered out of your body and that when your liver goes, so do you. in short, teach your kids that these things are wrong, be a role model for them.

what if the kids had a better role-model than tv and nicole (like, i don't know, maybe a parent as a role model?)? What would happen? i'll tell you what would happen, kids would stop cussing so much, drinking and smoking would go down in teens and if they're really good parents, they'll talk to their kids about sex and that will lead to better relationships, less sexual partners, and they'll be less likely to be promiscuous.

or, they could just call the FCC, bitch about a show, and do nothing to try and gain the respect of their child.

whatever works

(end rant...)

art show

my photo teacher bob westgate talked me into submitting some of my folsom street faire pics in the student art show at columbia college. so i found my favorite shots that were decent (meaning no boobs or peni popping out...) and printed them up and i'm going to go submit them in a few hours.

i had thought about submitting one with a guy wearing a gourd, but you can see his little boys, and i didn't want to freak out any old people or little kids, so i erred on the side of caution and decided not to submit it.

i'm putting in three or four, four if i can mount the last shot, and they should be available for the viewing pleasure of the public on october 16th in the college rotunda.

i'll be sure to post updates on how this how thing goes...

9.29.2006

i'm confused here...

a student in wisconsin brought a gun to school and shot to principal several times before being caught by police. this happened two days after the school shooting in colorado, again.

what bothers me is that this kid that shot the principal didn't have a lot of friends and used to make comments about bringing things to the school and hurting others students. and yet they said that this event couldn't be predicted?

if i were in my old high school and made a comment about hurting others there, i'd be busted in about 30 minutes.

why?

because saying stuff like that is serious, and it should be taken seriously. when someone repeatedly says that they're gonna hurt other students, they're not joking, no matter how much it might seem like it at the time. they're seriously thinking about it, and want to watch the reactions of others when they say it.

it just confuses me that it could be seen as normal for a kid to constantly make references to hurting others at his school. but that's just the opinion of a small town california girl.

9.27.2006

bleh....

i'm going through that phase again.

that one where the little voice of doubt speaks a wee bit more clearly and enunciates correctly just enough to that i can hear it and start paying attention to it.

i'm doubting my relationship and the people in my earth science group. while i'm sure the latter is perfectly alright for me to question, as no one but me has really worked on the project thus far, i hate doubting my relationship.

i've got the feeling that i'm just letting my disillusionment with school and the people that attend columbia college get to my personal life, and that sucks.

i think i need to get out and actually do something, as camping was shot down for last weekend.

another bummer: i wanted to go to san fran for my birthday this year, but it looks like i have to spend quality family time with the folks. i just wish we could spend it the weekend before, so that i could have some fun with my friends on halloween (what little fun a 19 year old can have on that day...)

on a slightly grosser, paranoid note, i've become obsessed with my breath. i'm constantly worried that it smells bad. though on the plus note, i am brushing my teeth more than the recommended two times a day, and i can eat three cinnamon altoids at a time.

folsom street faire

yet another brief, yet amusing, run down of sunday september 24th

* me and dad leave around 8 for pleasanton so we can take bart to market street.

*on bart, i make a comment about the women's leather booth, disturbing the lady sitting across from me and dad.

* at market street, we start walking towards 8th street, following the sea of leather down market, turning onto 8th, and then to the barricades.

*we paid $5 each to get in, and when dad said "that you sir", he was promptly corrected, "that's ma'am." because all chicks have a 5 o'clock shadow.

*we start walking inside, and we pass a row of port-a-potties. right as we start going, a guy clad in only a leopard print tarzan cloth walks out and talks with his partner, dressed as a policeman.

*within 2 minutes, i see an uncircumcised guy with a prince albert, how interesting....

*after about 7 minutes, i've taken roughly 5 shots of the various...people in their leather getups.

*a rather attractive couple poses for me while i take a few frames of him pretending to whip her, all while she's wearing a collar and a chain and some pieces of leather. as straight as i am, she had a nice butt.

*i see a guy sitting in a chair in armor, because armor is so sexy..., and he kinda creeps me out by not moving, just breathing really heavy...

*i see a girl with fur leggings on and hooves on the bottom, and let's not forget that leash she's on...

*a leather wolf comes on the scene, or at least a girl dressed as a leather wolf. i'm instantly reminded of that creepy pig mask from the saw and take her pic.

*furries show up, and i feel sympathy for them because there's no breeze at all that day and it's at least in the 80s.

*i decided to take pics of the 6 foot drag queens instead of the furries, or the guy with at least 10 piercings in his wang. which makes me think, how does he have sex? does he take them out, or does he just go for it and hope that nothing catches and then cleans them really good after?

*i see some random guys dancing with colored flags, my instincts tell me that these make up the gay pride flag colors, but i don't really know.. above them is a guy in a cage being lifted up and down by a crane.

*some guy that's really bad at dancing looks at dad in a way that i find a touch creepy...

*i work my way to the front of a booth that has people all around it to find myself face to...butt with a girl dressed as a catholic school girl getting caned. she's being interviewed and apparently this is a first for her, and her name is eve. how sweet.

*i see corn on the cob, meats on sticks, and hot dogs, but i see no chocolate covered bananas.....

*they're selling paddles that say stuff like slave and bottom. and they're placed so that when one is struck hard enough with a paddle, the butt turns red, except for the lettering.

*a man with a gourd on is standing under a sign that says "get your gourd on" and is saying that it costs $1 to take his pic. even though i think he has enough to give me change from a $10, i really don't want to take money form his crotchal area...so he lets me take his pic for free anyways..

*a few guys start masturbating in public, and people are taking pics, which makes me wonder whose worse: the guy for public masturbating, or the people for taking pics of it and edging him on to keep doing it...

*creepy asian guys won't get out of my way as they film the faire with their camera phones.

*i take a sticker that says "got wood?" i joke about putting it on the pellet stove, but later i end up threatening to put it on adam's butt.

*i see a family with kids about man crotch high walking around, and i wonder how traumatic this is going to be for the kids when they get older and have a fear of penises.

*there are camera's everywhere, and i highly suspect that they aren't being used to take photos for a photography class....

*my mom wants copies of the pics, my aunt wants copies, my dentist and his assistant want copies, and some guy at my dad's work wants copies....

*my mom, my dentist, and his assistant all want to go next year with me.

hawaiian car

i have the sudden nostalgia for my mom's old car. okay, it's not that sudden, i've been thinking about it for a few days. ever since i got teh bruddah waltah song, hawaiian car, i can't stop thinking about the toyota that my mom used to have in hawaii when i was little.

i remember picking off teh rust that was all over the body, and piling on towels so her seats wouldn't ge too wet. and then that gallon jug filled with water that she would use when the water got too low. it had a great, fnny little smell to it, probably a perma-wet from the beach water. none the less, as much as i made fun of that car, it was my mom's hawiian car, and i miss it.......

folsom street fair

september 24th is the folsom steet fair in san francisco. i'm rather excited because if i can go, my human sexuality teacher will give me extra credit, and i can take pics and use them as a photography assignment. hooray freedom from censorship!!!

for those that don't know, the folsom street fair is a parade type thing that goes almost all the length of folsom street in san francisco, about three or four blocks from market street. it's a leather fetish parade, sure to be filled with as many gays as straights, though maybe more gays. but that doesn't matter. i have a chance to kill two birds with one leather covered stone, or should it be i have the chance to kill two birds with one whip?

anyways...

i'm also interested in how others are taking this news. it's a small social experiment to me. i know some are gonna be asking me if i'm gay, and i'm sure i'll get a lecture about how evil gays are. along with how people will take this news, i'm curious to see how i react when i get there. the homepage for the parade was nice enough to not include any full on nude pics, though i did catch a glimpse of some man and woman butt, that was as bad as it got. so i'm curious to see how i'll react to whatever is paraded about on the streets.

rest assured, i'm not going alone. since this is a school assignment, my dad's agreed to go with me, as long as we don't stay too long. and to be honest, all i need to five good pics i can develop and print, so i'm looking at about three hours tops watching the parade, and that makes dad happy.

so this should be interesting, and if i do get a chance to go, which i think i will, it'll be a truly new and exciting experience that will help me learn about the big world i'm going to go into next year.

tool

a not so brief, but amusing run down of the tool concert:

* i'm picked up at my house at noon, and by 12:30 i had heard the phrase "we're going to a tool concert" roughly 20 times.

*megan does countless u-turns because she's actually listening to adam when he keeps naming off different places to grab some lunch. i finally tell him to shut up we go to wendy's.

*we get there at three, parking doesn't open until 5:30.

*we eat at a&w and then debate heading to the corporate bastard of america just to get out of the heat. we decide "f*** wal-mart, let's go get a motel room."

*after deciding to grab a motel room for the night, we try the royal motel with no luck. adam steals a melon...

*we find the red court inn and are about to leave when we're told it's $70 for two beds. when the guy hears us talking about super motel 8, he lowers the price to $55.

*we chillax in the room until about 5:30, when we head down to the amphitheatre.

*parking is open, but the gates don't open until 6:30, so we sit for Otto 45 minutes, wishing the guys in front of us weren't so weird.

*gates open at 6:30, and seating doesn't open until 7:30, so we spend an hour walking around. adam buys a beer, that loser, for $7.50. i but a water for $2.50.

*i call alex because my buddy's supposed to get my schedule for me and tell me when i work on monday. when i finally get a hold of him, he tells me that he forgot to look it up. when i finally get off the phone with him, i'm separated from the group. and of course everyone's wearing black, so looking for megan is impossible. luckily adam's 6'5" and is wearing a neon green shirt, so i find them in about 30 seconds.

*megan sees her ex-boyfriend and i see a guy i have photography class with.

*the gates open and we make it to the lawn part of the amphitheatre where our seats are.

*isis opens for tool, and they kick ass.

*tool comes on and the people next to me start smoking weed.

*we stand for about three hours while my eardrums and inner ear bones commit suicide because i happen to be sitting about six feet behind and ten feet below the speakers.

*after the concert, we go to the car and wait only about 5 minutes before we can get out alright.

*we get lost on the way back to the motel, but not for long. We forgo food for the night and crash on the beds.

*when we're watching tv, adam decides to jump onto the bed, but he doesn't see my head on the pillow, and he hits my nose.

*i bitch him out for a few minutes

*the girls take one bed, guys in the other and i sleep from about 12-5am.

*me and adam, being the only ones up, go to jack in the box (conviently located across the street) and grab some grub.

*we come back and wake everyone up, pissing off a few people.

*we head out by around 8:30, and i realize adam's left my aunt's blankets at the motel by 9:30, but megan doesn't want to turn around.

*by the time i get home, it's about 11:30. i stay up and recount my tales before going to sleep for 5 hours.

*slump*

today is the first day of actually going to class instead of sitting in front of the internet wondering what the hell aplia is and why i can't just use web ct....

so far i've only gone to one class, as this is my 1 hour break between astronomy and physchology. i walk into the class i see people that i tried oh so hard to avoid, and have until today been able to have no classes with them in it. these are mostly people i went to high school with that slacked off and acted like preppie, annoying, bitches that don't care about learning and that are sure to make my life annoying for three hours a week.

three early morning hours....*slump* oh well. i'm also concerned about the fact that on tuesdays i have a three hour block of nothingness..

what am i going to do here for three hours? even if i drove, i wouldn't want to leave because i would have gotten a sweet parking spot, and the general rule is that you do not abandon such a sweet spot if you have to come back anyways. and besides, gas is too expensive and i'm a cheap/poor college student that refuses to pay it....

so i've got the distinct feeling that i'll be posting more blogs and bulletins here and on myspace to kill time so my brain can get over the assault of the bubblegum chewing laughs emitting from the preps that assure each other that they'll get an "a for effort" in this class.

but the day is still young, hopefully i can see someone that will brighten my day by giving me a chance to have an intelligent conversation.

8.28.2006

life sucks, but not entirely....

yes!! school starts today. and while a lot of people hate school, i'm glad to be putting my brain to use after months of atrophy. it can be hard to have deep thought provoking discussions in the staples break room....

dammit!!! i had to pay $60 on top of my class fees and buying a new econ book for aplia, a program that mjc apparently goes through for their econ classes. i found this tidbit out today as i was signing in for my online class for the first time.

sweet!!!! the tool concert is this weekend and so far it's looking like i'll be able to go and hang out with my friends for some much needed "getting away from it all" time/

crap!! i think i have poison oak on my leg.....which really sucks as i've never had it before and i have pretty much until saturday morning to get rid of it.

finally!! i've found some hawaiian radio stations online that play live streams of music.

but i still can't find the lyrics to the song about mount haleakala and therefore can't find the real title, making it impossible for me to limewire....crap....

that's about it i guess, some good things, some bad, but it's all evening out i guess....i just hate poison oak right now....

if the us took a page out of china's book.....

i was reading the odd news today, and a chinese woman was caught with heroin soaked panties and long johns. just the fact that a person would transport drugged soaked panties seems sorta ingenious to me.

hear me out on this one. "no officer ,that's not drugs that's making my panties soaking wet, that's my pee after i watched rocketman for the first time." what officer, in the us at least, would sniff the panties, and then maybe dab his finger in the goo to taste it and determine if it's pee or heroin and water? but apparently in china, they drug test your panties and then, to determine just how much drugs you have, they weigh them.

this is a simple enough process, just weigh the drugged panties, and then....get the eight of dry panties somehow and subtract the dry weight versus the wet weight. in the us, we'd probably send the panties to some kind of drug/panty centrifuge and separate the drug from the underwear. Then there would be tests to see how pure it was, only to find out that the drugs "mysteriously disappeared", thus throwing the case out of the courts due to a lack of evidence. and the fate of the panties? they were repackaged and sold at one of the many wal-marts in china.

but what really interests me is that if found guilty, this lady faces the death penalty.

at first i thought, that's way too hard core, but then i reconsidered.

if you knew that they would kill you if you dealed drug, would you be so willing to do so? my thoughts then went to the us. look at the failing war on drugs. weed is ever rampant, and it's pretty obvious that movies like "refer madness" don't stop the drug use. in fact, i was curious if weed would help my piano skills, but i decided that piano's for people that care about their musical studes a wee bit more than i do.

getting back on track, it's my opinion that drug sales would plummet if drug dealers were executed instead of being put in prisons were they can learn about other drugs to deal and ways to deal them. with execution, the drug dealers would know that the us was serious, that it kill everyone before the youth of america picked up the piano.

but let's not stop there. know how everyone says that child molesters should have their wangs cut off? what's stopping you? if the us took a page from china's book and stared cracking down with harsher rules and penalties, child molesters would all but drop off the face of the earth. but how to ge the kids to feel comfortable talking? how about a cash award if they tell the truth and they really were touched. now that whole "'i'll kill you" or "i'll die, and you don't want that do you?" line of reasoning won't work, cuz that kid's thinking "your ass is going down and now i can buy that x box 360 i've had my eyes on." but if they lie, they get something taken away. so they won't want to lie about being touched because then their toys would start disappearing. it's practically fool-proof.

but then again, such regulations would put the concept of american democracy at stake, and if you rpolitical system changed too much, the entire world economy would change. our system (political and economical) is so unique in comparison with the world, that changes would shift the way the world markets worked, affecting everything and everyone. not every country can be changed to match the "superior democracy" of the us, because then they would consume energy, oil, and other goods just as bad as the us does. that would not be cool, especially since global warming's already happening. it would just make it worse and make it happen faster. but, if the us started consuming like other countries, places were we get our products, like china, japan, madagascar, and other nations wouldn't have a market for the products anymore because the us is the largest consumer.

so i suppose it's best we don't follow suit with other countries, but now i'm concerned about the us making those other countries follow in our large, damaging footsteps......but it's late and i want to sleep.

though now i'm sure i'll dream of his holiness the dali lama wearing juicy and carrying a prada purse, with coach glasses and sunglasses while he sports his grillz....

the circle of life, for cameras

the other day i was heart broken when i found out that my pentax was screwing up really bad. one shot and for some reason my film was moving four frames before i could shoot again. before i knew it, six pictures took up an entire roll. i was hopeful that i could take it to my local camera shop and have the guy fix it.

the bill? at least $150 dollars for fixing a winder that was screwing up. what really irritated me was that the camera itself was only $70, including a camera bag, two lenses, a magnifier, two filters, and all the cleaning supplies a person could wish for with these things.

so while i was feeling like i got the shaft from "the man" for making dslr's all the freaking rage and therefore pushing out the trusty 35mm cameras from the market, my one consolation was the fact that my nikon was a-ok and my life using 35mm was still intact.

until i try to get a flash for it and the photo guy takes off the lens cap and says, i only see black? WTF!!! so i go home and change the battery, because mr. mirror happens to be battery operated, and it still doesn't work!!!

so now i'm really freaking, because not only is my pentax dead, but my nikon is on the fringes, and i have an advanced photography class starting in a few weeks. so i take my second trek to the photo shop to figure out what the hell is wrong with this camera. so when i get over there, it turns out that the spring is screwed up, and to fix it would cost, yet again, $150.

so i was told that it wouldn't be worth it to fix it an to just buy a new one. but what about the camera? is there anyone i can give it to? even for free, to just take so i don't throw it in my trash and and up compacting it next to trevor's diaper? nope. the camera is absolutely worthless, no one would buy it. finally we, and by we i mean the camera guy, figured out what happened and the mirror came back down and it was okay to take pictures once again. of course in this process i ended up exposing half of adams film with other frames, so now he has no film and i was still down one camera.

it was only half way home that i realized i didn't do the one thing i had gone to the shop to do, twice. i forgot to get a freaking flash for the nikon. so i went back and yay!! everything went smoothly and i was able to get a flash, $10 off, and with no tax!

so while the pentax is dead, the nikon lives on! no the hunt is on for another pentax me super or pentax that can use the same lenses, because i have all these other lenses and stuff that's still good, and i refuse to throw away.

as for the dead pentax, his body is being donated to science and i plan on taking it apart to dink around with it and have some much needed mechanical fun.

the secret life of helanpe morris

today i got a loan offer from some company on the east coast. too bad it wasn't exactly for me, but it was for helanpe morris, the mysterious girl who entered my life freshman year of high school. she kept getting offers for the national honor roll society, at first it was sorta cute, oh look, they really messed up my name...but as time went on, she kept getting these great offers and it started to annoy me that a fictional person could get better offers than me.

then i started wondering how she came about in this world. sometimes i fancy that she was created when someone was trying to say melanie, but they had a bad cold and it was over the phone where they went into a tunnel and had the service cut off. so my name couldn't be verified and the typist on the other end said "f it, i'm going home."

or maybe i sleep walk at night and i created helanpe morris. but then i realized that in order to get these honor roll society things, helanpe must be nerdy and preppy, not exactly the ideal alter ego for a person already geeky and with no social life when school starts up.

or maybe, just maybe, helanpe is my long lost twin that for some reason was never revealed to me, and at night my family steals her mail from my room to give to helanpe, who lives in the shadows of my room spying on me, waiting for the perfect moment to take over my life.

whatever the case, i think i'll start a helanpe morris file and keep track of her accomplishments through the offers she gets in the mail, because apparently some random company that's a part of slm corporations knows more about helanpe and her parents and how much they need a student loan and just because i'm geeky like that.

the revolving door

so they killed the #1 most wanted man in iraq. some al-qaida guy and everyone was all happy that america had brought down a leader in the terrorist group. until the next day it was announced that al-qaida replaced abu musab al-zarqawi with someone else with i'm sure a similarly confusing name to pronounce.

my point is, won't it be rather difficult to fight a war on terror when this has escalated the number of people joining these kinds of groups? how are we, as a society, supposed to make the world a better, more peaceful place, when we use aggression?

the phrase "fight fire with fire" could be expanded on in what i feel to be an accurate analogy. i mean, fires do cancel each other out, only because one fire burns everything while another burns the rest until there's nothing left to burn and they go out. so fighting fire with fire only scorches everything until both fires are out. using this analogy, it's easier to understand that the only to effectively "win the war on terror" is if all potential terrorists are killed.

but can't anyone be a potential terrorist? so wouldn't everyone have to be killed in order for there to be on more terrorist strikes? think about the american terrorists. the unabomber and the oklahoma city bombings should all remind americans that terrorists are not one religion, not one race. they have the potential to be our math teachers, like ted kaczynski, or they can even be veterans, think tim mcveigh. even in this case, there were sketches of middle eastern men put out as the terrorists, when it was really good 'ol tim, a boy as white bread as they get. my point is, short of being jesus, any one has the potential for being a terrorist. so why fight fire with fire when that won't get anything done?

what's happened is that ameica has gotten so many groups mad at us, not just the french, to the point where the only country that really tolerates america is india. and that's just because that's where we outsource our jobs. the actions of the united states have seemed to have done more harm than bad and the people of these countries see it. what we as a country fail to see is that by acting the way we are, we're adding fuel to the anti-american fire that's starting to spread. the killing of known civilians in iraq by us marines was just one example of why the youth of these countries (the middle eastern region in general) have a reason to hate us and to join groups against america. what we've effectively done is create a revolving door. we kill one terrorist, another replaces him.

true, before america went into iraq a lot of people didn't like us. but do we really need to give them a reason to hate us? by acting the way we are, we've justified the sentiments of these groups, all the while adding to the number of people that sympathize with the country's plight.

it seems as if america's dug itself into a hole, and is trying to dig up in order to get out.

Dammit

In my head there are a million short stories and short films. They're all brilliant and would create a name for myself in the literary/filming worlds.

But I've got one issue. They only stay in my head. I can't seem to get them written down. Dammit.

I want to write, but I can't do the writing I want to because my English professor hates this semester's class and is making us write 4 essays for finals. I've got a week to do it, but anyone that knows me will understand that this still sucks. Because I'm gonna wait until the last minute to write something and I'm gonna be so hopped up on coffee that I won't be able to think straight.

I guess that's about it. I just needed to bitch. And to avoid doing my essays.

the story of skookum

I got a male convict chiclid because my female (Pook) was picking up rocks in her mouth and throwing them against my tank at night. Which would be fine, except that I sleep very light these days and the sound wakes me up all the time. Since her only other tank mate was a sucker fish (aptly named Sucky), I decided to journey to the city of Modesto to get a mate for my Pook.

That's when Skookum came in the picture. At first, Pook nipped at him and wouldn't let him eat the fish food, but after about a week she let up and my fish tank was in perfect harmony. It got even better when Pook laid her eggs. I was so excited to be finally getting a little fishie family, until Skookum ate the eggs. Then he started to nibble on Pook's scales, and then last night I see that Sucky is missing his right eye.

That little bastard Skookum ate out Sucky's eye!!! So I took him out of the tank and put him in another container that had warm water from the tank for him and plently of fishie food. And when I get home from class, I find out that Skookum rode the toilet express straight into the sewer plant that's clearly visible from the highway. So rest in peace you little bastard, and thanks for beating up Pook and eating Sucky's eye.

click click click

usually, when i'm at the college library, i'm one of the few that's actually typing. albiet i'm trying emails, mypace comments, and this blog, but i'm still typing and looking productive. today, i was bombarded with the sounds of frantic typing as my fellow columbianites struggle to finish essays for finals week. i'm not used to this sound, especially since i'm in the lab part of the library where people usually listen to music really loud. thank god for the guy behind me, or else i wouldn't know what to do. at least he's doing what everyone else usually does and listening to some screamo rapeo crapo music. i hope i'm not the only person at this college that can appriciate good music. but the evidence otherwise is lacking.....

that's...kinda weird....

Living in this county has always been a slight struggle for me. Not because there's nothing to do on a friday night but go bowling and end up seeing 15 people you in the process, but because of the guys.

I've never thought of myself as overwhelmingly hot, but I am aware that I can at times carry a certain air of...sexuality. My problem is that the guys in my county are no Don Juan (a great story by the way...). In fact I've been disgusted with myself when once I had a crush on a local boy and it turned out that he was my 5th cousin...eeewww. Even though a lot of states allow second cousins to marry, that's just gross. Even though he was a cousin from a married side of my family to a married side of his, and no real blood between us, I freaked. Being my first encounter with a possible relative as a crush in 4th grade, I instantly became weary of any guy that could be remotely cute if you sorta squinted your eyes in fear that he might be related to me. Because of this deep rooted fear, I've found that the only guys I attract and am attracted to are really kinda weird.

Three guys that I've liked were into Dungeons and Dragons, which can be a downer when you want to do something, but they can't miss their game day. Though this is nothing compared to these two guys I've recently found cute at Columbia JC. These two guys, yes they're nerdy and play X-box and have conversations like "Who's the hottest Disney princess?", but I drew the line when I found out they still played with dinosaurs. These guys are at least a year older than me, and being long past the third grade, I assumed that they had abandoned playtime, at least with plastic Dollar Tree toys. But I was wrong, and when joking with my friend, found out that they actually fought about what dinosaurs to include, so as to not get any Jurassic periods in with Triassic periods, that would ruin the purpose of the game.

So I abandoned all thoughts of these two guys and focused on another. He seemed fine. Smart, funny, and decent if you squint, but you don't really need to squint too much. There was only one thing that really dishearted me. According to a reliable source, this guy had tasted his own man juices. Skippy, just great I thought. Not that I'm against people exploring their own sexuality, but it just so happened that I stumbled upon possibly the one guy that had tasted his juices and told someone about it. And was then bold enough to say that man juice tasted better than woman juice. It was here that I found out that he wasn't a virgin (I always think the best of people until otherwise informed), and I wondered what his real motives were. I just thought it was strange how he was very much so against gay people (though I suspect he would have no problem with lesbians..), and yet he says that man juices are better than woman juices? I was confused, still am as a matter of fact.

It was after this that I realized that maybe I wasn't meant to ever have anything in the way of a serious relationship, and that the only guys I seem to attract are ones that would consider borderline-freaky. Though I did have one semi-normal relationship, the guy was heavily into D&D, even once ditching me for hours at a bbq to show his friends the old D&D manuel he got. But at least Jeremy set up dates with me, nothing like this Jerk L.C. that decided to blow me off without calling me and saying he couldn't make the date he set up for another girl at Sadies (so she was still in high school while he's had 2 years at a JC) and then thinks nothing of it when he calls to apologize.

Like I said, maybe I'm not supposed to have a decent relationship, maybe I'm doomed to spend the rest of my life attracted to guys that taste their man juice and having guys that play with dinosaurs attracted to me. Sometimes makes a girl want to join a nunnery...
